We’re super excited to be premiering the brand new video from Los Angeles-based project LAKOOKALA! The video (watch it below) was directed by Justin Nijm and Jack Bishop, both of whom are also responsible for the hilarious web series Jack & Justin. Bishop is also a musician, and writes and records under the moniker Mr. Bear.

The music video for “Mother Biiiirds” colorfully exposes the chaotic psyche of Lakookala’s lead vocalist/drummer Nicole Ranalli (sporting multiple animistic manifestations) as she tries to cope with overbearing feminine forces. Paint splatters, feathers fly and eggs explode in an all out glow-in-the-dark extravaganza.

Directed by Jack Bishop and Justin Nijm.

BAND INFO:  LAKOOKALA is the solo project of Los Angeles based drummer/vocalist, Nicole Ranalli (Former leading lady of east coast punk-rock band Medic Medic).  Backed by a wailing guitar and eerie synthesizers, Ranalli leads on her drum throne as her soulfully reckless vocals create a viceral new sound.  Mother Biiiirds is the second single off her self-released EP Songs For ZeMean.

Afternoon Records founder and former One For The Team frontman, Ian Anderson, has a new project called Dream Brother. Taking a less conventional route, the new project sees Anderson releasing a couple new tracks every few months. He’s been on a roll with the guest appearances too - the last set featured Paul Sprangers (of Free Energy) and John Vanderslice, with these new ones both featuring Grant Cutler.
